New United Methodist Church initiative to supply ONE TON of dried beans to local food banks.  Bring dried beans to Church and contribute to this worthy cause.  See Newsletter for more information.  Phase 1 – Local Food Banks – each local food bank depends on dried beans to help provide nutrition especially during winter months.  Each Church is asked to set up a collection box and encourage church members to bring a bag of dried beans during Oct/Nov.  Final tally to be turned in after Thanksgiving.  Beans will be distributed to Food Banks across our district in the month of December.  Phase 2 – Churches will take a special Christmas offering on Dec 20th (or another specified time during December) .  These funds will go to STOP HUNGER NOW meal packing event at the new modified Shepard’s School scheduled Feb 21, 2016 at Tullahoma.  Our goal is to pack 20,000 meals at this event.   We will be looking for 100-125 meal packers for this event.

Other events that are in the early planning stages for ESUMC are:

1- Christmas program including caroling and a Christmas Eve service (contemporary) – POC Rev Smith
2 – Warmth in the Winter for Youth of Estill Spring (YES) – POC Cindy Key
3- Shoebox project for overseas youth – POC Sally Collison

ESUMC Work and Coordinating Committees are encouraged to begin planning and budgeting for 2016.  We would like to have all areas represented in the Church planning process and have an approved budget ready on 1 Jan 2016 for implementation.  Planning is THE process for involvement in the ESUMC activity where your voice can be heard and your participation is most valuable.  We want to hear your ideas, desires and needs and make sure they are addressed in our plan.

Please continue to pray for the sick, shut-ins, those in care facilities, for our care givers, and others who need a lift and some love.   We have an awesome Church family.  We would love for you to join us.
